A move...for good

I've been trying out so many blogs that I kinda lost count. Ok. Fine. Three. Xanga. Blogspot. Wordpress.

After a couple of affairs with all three, I have decided to stick with one, and sorry Xanga, you are not the chosen one. Don't cry now. You still have other people on your network.

For my fans (if I have any that is), my new blog is located at http://allthingsnick.blogspot.com

Toys, toys and more TOYS!

Recently, I went to GACC which is a games, toys and etc convention held at MMU Malacca. I went there to demo games for Toybox and you can find more about it at our website, www.toybox.com.my. You can also find a link to more pictures of GACC there.

But what was more interesting is that from that convention, I managed to get more toys for myself! Yep, gashapons galore at Malacca. This was even better than the selection I could find in KL!

First up, although I haven't seen the anime, the figurines were too good looking to pass. I had to take them and it was only RM70. Worth every cent in my opinion. The pictures don't do justice to it as the level of details on these guys are amazing.

Of course, I wouldn't go around looking at gashapons without looking for my favourite Naruto gashapons. Needless to say, this pet series was a good one for me as well. They had Naruto and his lil frogs, the 4th Hokage and Jiraiya and their giant frogs, 3rd Hokage with his monkey and finally Kakashi and his dogs. Yep, good stuff indeed.

And finally, my collection of toys so far!

That would be my Keroro Gunso models and the Full Metal Alchemist set. Below you will see a limited edition err funny looking guy and also Crossbone Ver KA box. Its still unassembled.

Introducing Keroro Gunso...

As I mentioned in my previouseh post, I am into Keroro Gunso. No idea why but it just struck me that those dudes will look good in a display shelf. Do I have a display shelf? Not really but that isn't the point. The point is that I am going to buy Keroro Gunso stuff because they look cute. So, who is Keroro Gunso you might ask? Well, let me introduce the family...

krg016

The green dude in the middle is the leader of this band of froggies. Meet Keroro. On his right, the guy in black or dark blue, is Tamama, the cutest of the lot. When he is not annoyed of course. On Keroro's left, the red frog, is Giroro and he is the most serious of them all. He is very unhappy that he got Keroro as his superior. On Tamama's right, is Kururu or Kululu as some sites have spelt his name. He is an inventor but he is kinda whacky. And finally, the blueish dude beside Giroro is Dororo. He is a ninja. Yep, a ninja frog. Now what can be better than that?

I have the first half of the series from Episode 1 to 32 and I am enjoying the brainless moments that these anime gives me. Soon, I will have my Keroro collectibles! Oh my personal favourite, Tamama of course.

Yep, Tamama - Private 2nd Class. Innocent lookin fella...

Hobby binge...

Recently, the lack of 360 and Wii games made me go on an alternate hobby binge. It started innocently enough with a trip to a local hobby store. I saw the Gundam Saviour and I thought, maybe I will just spend some time assembling this. Then, while I was there, I thought why not get the gashapon set as well since I am quite a gashapon fan myself, so that was that. And below lies the result of my purchase!

So, of course, I decided to go walk around yesterday and stepped into this hobby store again and lo and behold! A Freedom Strike, and Master Grade no less. I was thinking, since I already finished that model, why not get another one? This time I had no other gashapon sets to get so it was only a single purchase. And on my bed lies the huge box...

Was charging my Canon batteries so I took a snapshot with my trusty ol' K750i. Of course, that is not the end of the story because while I was at the shop, I spy something cute, something that seems interesting enough for me. Keroro! And now I am hunting for this little froggie dudes. Wish me luck.. I hope I'll be cured soon..

Gunpla craze...

I am a sucker for hobby kin da things which brings me to my current state of being poor. The latest addition to my long long list of hobbies is Gunpla which is essentially Gundam model assembling. It is not really building because all you do is just cut and snap things together. But after seeing some friends do it, my hand got itchy and I went to try one myself.

Who knew it would take so long to snap things together?! I think it took me about two days to put together this damn thing, and about 8 hours of sitting in front of the TV, cutting plastic parts and snapping it together. Then, I tried to draw the lines and horror of all horrors, my marker was too thick which meant I have to go hunt for a fine marker now.

Was it worth the effort? Well, there is the satisfaction of making something yourself and it is no different here. I am certainly happy with my first time effort although there is much to be done before I complete the Gundam model. Some filing and some more cutting as I left bits and pieces here and there since I was too lazy.

My finished Gundam Saviour! Next stop, Freedom or Justice!
